Guardian Newspaper has reported that President Muhammadu Buhari and his delegates to London will go into isolation after a possible COVID-19 exposure London.
It was alleged that the UK high Commissioner, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, who was seen in close contact with the president at the airport in London and other members of the embassy staff reportedly tested positive for coronavirus.
Nigeria’s High Commission in the UK has since been under lock down for a period of 10 days, in observation of UK Covid-19 regulations.
The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu confirmed the report of the president’s isolation, including isolation of those who reportedly traveled with the president.
Shehu said on Saturday, “Mr President and all of those on his delegation will be isolated in line with NCDC guidelines for international travel.
“They all tested yesterday (Friday) and will follow up with another test in due course.”
Recall that the president returned to Abuja, Nigeria on Friday after a two-week stay in the United Kingdom.
