Meet The Female Pilot, Nwando Okpalaeke, Who Landed The First Plane On Anambra Airport

It is a female that landed the first plane at the newly inaugurated Anambra International Airport. Her name is Phina Nwando Okpalaeke.

NEWS MAIL NG reported earlier that Air Peace plane made history as the first plane to land at the new passenger and cargo international airport located at Umueri community in Anambra East local government area.

The state governor, Chief Willie Obiano inaugurated the airport yesterday, 30th of April amidst pump and pageantry.

 

The female pilot, Nwando, who is from Azia in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, is one of the pilots that landed an aircraft at the airport during the test run.

 

Nwando is a Computer Science graduate of Kwame Nkrumah University in Ghana who later trained at an air school in South Africa where she was certified to fly commercial airplanes.

Nwando’s sister known on Twitter as Sonia Uzoma, revealed her identity on Twitter when she celebrated her as the first pilot to land at the new Anambra Airport. Nigerians also joined her to celebrate her sister. Read their comments below:
