Igbo music legend, Chief Morocco Maduka , has been laid to rest in his hometown in Anambra State.
News Mail Nigeria reports that Morocco Maduka was buried in Umugama village, Ukwulu, Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra state.
Morocco Maduka popularly known as Eze Egwu Ekpili died at the age of 76. He made his mark in the music industry with the modernization of traditional Egwu Ekpili music. He treated morality, philosophy and other life issues with his music.
He left behind his wife, Mrs. Bridget Ifeonugekwu Maduka and seven children.
Dignitaries that attended his burial were Peter Obi, former Anambra State Governor, traditional ruler of Ukwulu, Igwe Peter Uyanwa, Chief Samuel Nwobu of Sammy Sparkle, Morocco’s producer.
Members of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria from different chapters were also present.
