Imo Prison inmate who escaped and went to threaten someone who testified against him has been burnt .
News Mail Nigeria reports that the residents of Umuawom village, Ihodimeze community in Ikeduru council area of Imo State state him ablaze.
The inmate is an indigene of Ogwa community in Mbaitoli LGA but grew in Umuawom village, his maternal home. It is alleged that he went to Umuawom to threaten one of the families that testified against him in court. He tried to use a gun to execute his threat.
The people of Umuawom village grabbed him, beat him to pulp and set him on fire. The Imo State Police Command is yet to issue a statement on this development.
You will recall that hoodlums attacked a correctional facility in Owerri, Imo State and set over 1,800 inmates free on Monday, April 5.
