News Mail Nigeria reports that Amotekun Corps, Ondo State Security Network Agency seized one hundred cows after the herders disobeyed the open grazing law in Ondo.
Mr. Adetunji Adeleye, the commander of the Amotekun Corps in the state revealed that the one hundred cows were seized after their operatives received a distress call of cows blocking the Ilesa-Akure Expressway.
The Commander said the herdsmen ran away upon seeing the Amotekun officers, they abandoned their cows . He said his men walked 30kilometres with the cows as they made their way to the Amotekun headquarters in Akure, the capital of Ondo State.
He said: “Our men controlled the cows to the headquarters of our office which was about 30 kilometers from the point they were intercepted.
“We should take note that our men are in all the 18 local government areas and we are on 24 hours patrol. We arrived at the scene promptly.“
Adeleye also alleged that some kidnappers use cattle grazing as a cover to kidnap innocent citizens of the state.
