COVID-19 : See When Presidential Task Force Says Schools Will Resume

Sani Aliyu the National Coordinator of Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 has said when schools will resume.

NEWS MAIL NG reports that the PTF Coordinator has affirmed that schools in Nigeria will resume on the 18th of January 2021.

He added that the date will only change after a review by the Federal Government. This is coming as a clarification of a statement made on 11th of January by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu , who said following the second wave of COVID-19 the Federal Government would review the January 18th resumption date of schools across Nigeria.

Many Nigerians took the statement to mean the government is about to shift the resumption date but Sani Aliyu on TVC yesterday affirmed that the January 18th resumption date is still valid.

“As regards schools, I just want to make a clarification. What the minister said yesterday was that they were going to review, he didn’t say that they were going to change the date. He said they will review the situation and let the nation know.

So, for the moment, it is still 18th January until the ministry of education comes back either with an alternative date or reconfirm that.” he said
